Comparison · Animated emotes
EmoteMaker.ai alternatives for animated Twitch emotesFour other ways to get a moving emote set, with published prices.
Short answer: if you want a matching set of animated emotes from one character for the lowest price per emote, Animated Emote Maker charges 1 credit per animated emote (about $0.50 on the $19.99 pack). If you want an AI tool that animates an emote you already have, MakeEmoji is the closest fit. For photo-to-emote in preset styles, createemotes.com sells credits from €5. If you want a person to draw and animate it, one Fiverr listing we checked charges $24.60 for one animated emote with a 10-day delivery. EmoteMaker.ai itself remains a strong pick when you want MP4 video emotes and channel branding in one editor.
Why people look for an alternative
EmoteMaker.ai is a capable all-in-one tool: it generates static emotes, animates them with a video model, and has a Brand Studio for banners, panels and starting-soon screens. People usually compare it with other options for one of three reasons:
- Cost of a full animated set. On EmoteMaker.ai animation is priced per clip (35 credits for 5 seconds), on top of the static emote (5 credits, or 6 with a reference image). That is fine for one hero emote and adds up for eight.
- Format. Twitch animated emotes are GIFs with at most 60 frames. Some streamers want short, purpose-made loops rather than a video clip converted to GIF.
- Who makes it. Some streamers prefer a human artist for a signature look, or want to start from a photo in a fixed style.
Below are the options we looked at, with the prices each company publishes. We make one of them (Animated Emote Maker), so we’ve kept every claim to what the pages say and noted where another tool fits better.

1. Animated Emote Maker
How it works: you upload 1–3 pictures or answer a short brief, and the generator draws one character sheet that locks the look. Each animated emote is then drawn from that sheet as an 8-frame loop, sliced in your browser and exported at Twitch’s 112, 56 and 28 px plus Discord’s 128 px, with every file checked against size, frame and flashing limits before you download.
- Price: 2 credits for the character sheet, 1 credit per animated emote. A sheet plus 8 animated emotes is 10 credits: $5.00 on the Creator pack ($19.99 for 40 credits), $4.00 on the Studio pack.
- Free start: 3 credits on sign-up (a sheet and one emote), valid for 30 days. Free in-browser tools (Twitch emote resizer, emote checker) need no account.
- Same character across sub badges, a PNGTuber set, Discord stickers and a channel kit.
- Failed generations return their credits automatically.
Where another tool fits better: we don’t export MP4 video emotes, and we don’t have a freehand canvas editor. If you need either, EmoteMaker.ai or MakeEmoji is the better choice.
2. MakeEmoji
MakeEmoji started as a free emoji editor and now sells AI animation. You upload an image and pick Super Animation (a preset motion) or Studio (your own motion prompt, or a new image from text).
- Quality levels: Standard (3 frames), High (6 frames) and Ultra (12 frames); Studio can produce up to 24 frames when editing a longer GIF.
- Credit packs: Starter $7 for 30 credits, Builder $19 for 100, Bulk $49 for 300. Packs work with every quality level.
- Pro: Individual $10/month (100 credits a month) and Creator $24.17/month (300 credits a month), both billed yearly ($120 and $290). Unused credits roll over.
- You can also earn credits through surveys and offers.
Good fit if you already have emote art and just want it to move. MakeEmoji’s own Twitch guide suggests spending AI credits on a few “hero” emotes and testing each at 28 px first, which is sound advice whichever tool you use.
3. createemotes.com
createemotes.com (run by myEmotes) turns up to 4 photos of you, your VTuber model or your pet into emotes in one of four styles: chibi, anime, 3D avatar or semi-realism. It has a large library of ready-made emote ideas (memes, reactions, Twitch moments) and text emotes.
- Price: one-time credits in euros. €5 for 10, €12.50 for 25, €25 for 50. 1 credit makes 1 emote. No subscription.
- Free start: your first 2 emotes are free and watermarked until your first top-up.
- Animation: any finished emote can be animated with a motion preset or AI animation; the homepage doesn’t list a separate animation price, so check it in the app.
- Exports: a transparent 112×112 Twitch file plus Discord and Slack sizes and the full-size PNG. Failed generations are refunded.
4. A Fiverr artist
If you want a person to draw and animate your emotes, Fiverr has many sellers in Graphics for Streamers. Two current listings, with Fiverr’s service fees included:
- One animated chibi emote (half body, 28/56/112/500 px): $24.60, 10-day delivery, unlimited revisions.
- Five animated emotes plus one static (GIF and PNG, 28–1000 px): $61.53, 5-day delivery, unlimited revisions; the seller’s FAQ says commercial use is included.
What you get that no generator gives you: a person who reads your references, sends sketches for approval and adjusts the details you care about. What it costs: more money per emote and days of waiting. Check each seller’s queue, revision terms and whether the source file is included before ordering.
Price for 8 animated emotes, side by side
Our arithmetic from each company’s published rates on 6 November 2026, cheapest pack that covers the job, before tax:
- Animated Emote Maker: 10 credits (sheet + 8 emotes). $9.99 Starter pack (15 credits) covers it with 5 credits left; $5.00 worth of credits at the Creator rate.
- EmoteMaker.ai: about 40–41 credits per animated emote (5–6 for the static, 35 to animate 5 s), so roughly 320–330 credits for eight. The $50 pack (500 credits) covers it.
- createemotes.com and MakeEmoji: totals depend on the animation cost per emote, which their pricing pages don’t state; check in the app before buying.
- Fiverr: $24.60 × 8 = $196.80 at the single-emote listing above, or about $12.31 per animated emote in the five-emote package.
Price isn’t the only factor: frame count, file size and whether all eight look like the same character matter more in chat than a few dollars.
How to choose
- 1You have no art yet and want a full set
Use a tool that locks one character first, then makes every emote from it.
- 2You already have static emotes
Use an animate-my-image tool (MakeEmoji, EmoteMaker.ai) or hire an animator for just the motion.
- 3You want your own face in a set style
A photo-to-emote tool like createemotes.com.
- 4You want a signature, hand-drawn look
Hire an artist; use AI drafts to brief them faster.
- 5You need MP4 or 10-second video emotes
EmoteMaker.ai.
Whichever you choose, check the files before uploading: square, under 1 MB (or 512 KB per manual file), at most 60 frames and no more than 3 flashes a second. The free emote checker on this site tests any GIF in your browser.
